Vases

Class of 2022
This year in my fall art show I decided to put a focus on vases. Previously I practiced in the spring art show with making beach aesthetic plates and bowls. This falls experience allowed me to practice building up cylinders in the future. I started off simply centering clay. Then I would proceed to build 3-5 inch cylinder to make a foundation for the shape and texture of the vase. I choose this idea because I felt confident in my bowl and plate making ability. So, I wanted to master a new kind of ceramic build. I choose the specific pieces for my art show because I found distinct differences that made the pieces unique. This year my main goal was to try to feel confident that the size of my pieces were in contrast in every location in thickness.
